My name is Kerry Lynn Brydon and I am 19 years old. I was born in Zejtun, south of beautiful island Malta. I am the youngest of 2 sisters and 1 brother who alongside my parents, have always encouraged me in everything I decide to put my mind to. Being the youngest of the family, I consider myself to have been lucky to have watched my sisters grow into powerful independent women with big dreams and they inspire me to be like them. My brother has been like a father-figure throughout my life. He has taught me to take my very first steps and has been by my side ever since.

I am a Junior Accountant at one of Malta’s largest firms, Grant Thornton, and I am part of an intelligent team assigned on Malta’s largest accounting projects to date. I am proud to have such a loving and hard-working team, who also support me in all my dreams. However, my love for art is undeniable. Which is why my plans after I graduate from Accountancy is to pursue my dream of achieving a degree in Architecture.

I grew up in my hometown Zejtun. I consider myself very energetic and spontaneous woman. I am always game for heart racing adventures. I am openly passionate about my love for dance and music. It first began when I used to peak through my brother’s bedroom door to watch him practice his hip hop dance moves. It was only a while after when he noticed and taught me some of his incredible dance moves. Ever since, I have been spending most of my weekends with my friends and family where we get the chance to dance the night away.

Given the title of Miss Intercontinental Malta is a dream come true. But, it is not for the reason that most may think. The beautiful banner and publicity are nice but my mission is much deeper than the surface. I am determined to make most of my titles and allow these opportunities awarded to me to help those who really need a voice.

Also, I would like to raise awareness to dispel the stereotype of pageants being so called “beauty pageants”. I believe pageants push women to become their personal ideal image. It is the inner beauty of a women that stands out most in a pageant. These women have ambitions for their education, jobs and nation. They are powerful and strong in their belief. They take action for those who cannot. And they empower others.

I am proud to be representing my country Malta and I hope to make all of Malta proud at this year’s Miss Intercontinental competition.
