I am Lucía Arellano. I am an international business student in the USA. I moved back to Peru five months ago to follow my dream and started working as a social activist with different organizations that promote education and a healthy lifestyle for the kids in Iquitos, because they are the future of our country. I have played volleyball since I was seven years old. This sport has helped me in developing qualities such as leadership, dedication, and perseverance.

Becoming Miss Loreto, and now having the responsibility of representing my country, Peru, in such an important pageant where I am given a platform to be a direct voice and being able to show my amazing city Iquitos to the world, is an honor. Iquitos is located 10 minutes away from the Amazon river, and it is a city that is full of hard workers and kind people; it also has amazing gastronomy. Peru is a country where men and women are equal, where we dream together, where we respect different opinions, where you feel the love, and most important of all, where we value each other.

I believe that respect and education are the key to be successful and happy in life, and I believe that one smile can open more doors than one thousand words.
